Runes, Forges and God Armor

By Bill Kelsey · Updated 2026-10-28

This tutorial explains how to acquire, enhance, and utilize god armor sets, runes, and forges within the game Valhella. Players must collect god-forged gear, rune their equipment at the forge, use both carving and binding forges, and weigh the benefits of blood runes.

Before you start
  • Find god-forged gear
  • Access to a forge

Collect God Armor

Each god's set consists of four pieces: helm, cuirass, gauntlets, and greaves. Two pieces grant a set bonus, while all four pieces provide a stronger bonus. Weapons do not count toward a set.

Rune Your Gear

Use the forge to rune your gear, which raises a piece's rank up to rank 3, increasing its strength.

Use Both Forges

Carve your god's runes on one side and bind them into weapons on the other. Two runes from rival gods fuse into a bindrune, requiring cities to trade.

Weigh Blood Runes

The strongest runes require blood to use. Hel's runes are overpowered but cause corruption.

Valhella is an early prototype. Features and controls may change before release.
